A huge breakthrough was announced this week that could further boost the already escalating adoption of Electric Vehicles. A new type of storage could obliterate charging times from up to 8 hours down to 10 minutes.

Researchers from Bristol University and Surrey University have developed a next-generation material for super capacitors which store electricity charge, Further to this, driving range would be extended to rival that of traditional petrol and diesel cars.

With demand for this advancement guaranteed, the potential is huge however much work remains to bring the tehcnology to the market in a feasible way. It has been recognised that a super capacitor car left for a month would run out of charge so at this stage an ancillary battery would be essential.
